"amsalpha"-like style in EndNote?
Author:    Posted: Fri, 7 Jan 2005 18:27:39 -0500 (
Hi,
I am using EndNote8 and I'm trying to produce a bibliography that looks
like

[AL73] E. Author and D. Lastname. Title. McGraw-Hill, New York,
1973.

i.e., the citing contains lastname initials followed by two digits of
publication year (this is what you get by using "alpha" or
"amsalpha" styles in "latex").
Is there a style file for EndNote that does this; or is it possible to
create one (I tried but it does not seem that the EndNote8 allows one to
do this)?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Aurel Cami

The standard solution is to put the appropriate code, e.g. [AL73], in the
Label field of each reference. Then edit the output style to insert this data
in the formatted references.

When you are editing the output style, go to "Bibliography" in the left-hand
pane of the style edit window, and select the sub-heading "Layout".

Go to the "Start each reference with" box, click on the "Insert Field" button,
and select "Label". This should insert the text from the Label field at the
beginning of each reference.
