EndNote, Mac and WorldCat - Problem

Hi,
I have a faculty member experiencing a problem with the new EndNote 8 and
WorldCat. He is using a Mac.
When he tries to import the DirectExport file into an empty EndNote file,
it leaves him with a library showing "0 out of 0" references.
But when he restarts EndNote, the references are in the library. After a
bit of experimentation, he discovered that, if you try to import refs and
then tell EndNote to "Show All" to display the hidden refs, it crashes.
BUT if you import refs, close the library, then reopen the library, the new
refs are there. So the problem is solved - but he really shouldn't have to
close and reopen EndNote (???)
Does anyone know what is happening? Is there a better solution? It seems
terrible that he has to go through this much just to get references into
EndNote. It should be easier and seamless.
Help.
Thanks,
Barbara
