I have been using the link to a pdf file in the URL field in both 8.0.1
and 8.0.2 with no problem.
Like others, I file both my digital pdfs and my photocopies in
author-date order, and use Endnote's excellent search facility to find
the ones relevant to my current piece of work. I also use the Keywords
field to identify items I know I will need, e.g. for a reading list for
a specific course.
