CWYW unresolved macro problem

Dear users
First I would like to let you know I quite enjoyed reading the maisl from
the archives as they are informative, clear and sometimes really funny.
However, I do have problems that I cant find here.
The specs: windows XP, Word2000, endnote 8.
The problem:
I went through ALL the literature about macro security settings problems and
it still isnt working. i know the problems is quite common but please read
up to the end cos I have already done all what people have advised to do for
that, and still it is not working.
The tools were not appearing in word so I copied the two files in the
startup folder myself, and since then two things are happening:
when I open Word it says that it cant load the en8cwyw.wll AND when I click
on "find citations" it says that the macro must have disabled.
I have changed the security settings to medium and then to low it does not
change anything.
I went to Tools/templates add-ins and ticked the component which was not but
it would say straight away that it cannot be loaded.
I have asked word to always trust macros from isi and it seems to be in
place, but it doesnt change anything.
I have no third party program.
And I went as far as UNINSTALLING my anti virus to REINSTALL endnote and
STILL it is not working.
I did all what is mentioned in FAQ 13 and it sitill doesnt work.
I have run out of idea and my uni specialist of endnote at Uni is not sure
what to do.
Can anyone help?
