Hi everybody..
I use MS word xp and I'm stuck in a horrible situation. This evening,
suddenly the endnote started not to work in MS word with this message:
"The macro cannot be found or has been disabled because of your Macro
security setting"
What is it?
Please help me!
Best,
Joon

Joon,
I, too, recently loaded MS Word XP and got "Macro Security" messages.
Presumably the default security setting is 'High.'
In MS Word go to 'Tools' on top menu. Open it and click on 'Macro' then on
'Security'.
Check 'Medium' security.
Hopefully that will work. Good luck.

A search on google of your error message found the following.
Error: "The macro cannot be found or has been disabled because of your
Macro security setting"
from: http://www.amicusattorney.com/support/FAQ/doc/doc004.html
Cause:
To help fight the larger number of Microsoft Word macro viruses affecting
documents, Microsoft Office 2000(assume this is true for other new versions
of Word as well) has introduced security levels to take advantage of the
benefits of macro digital signatures. These signatures help identify the
source of a macro and whether a response is required from the user to
enable the macro or not.
The Macro security setting in Word 2000 is set to High by default. This is
what prompts the above message to appear when trying to generate a document
or edit a Master Document. This Macro security level needs to be set to
Medium.
A security level set to High only allows a signed and trusted code to run.
A security level set to Medium provides the user with a choice to enable or
disable the macros on a file-by-file basis. A security level set to Low
turns off all macro security warnings in Microsoft Office 2000. You can set
the security level through the Security dialog, which is accessed by
selecting Tools > Macros > Security from Microsoft Word 2000.
Solution:
It is recommended that you change the Macro security setting in Microsoft
Word 2000 to Medium.
When opening a file with macros under a security setting of Medium, a
warning offers the user a choice between enabling or disabling macros. If
it is available for the file being opened, the Microsoft Office 2000 Medium
Security Warning dialog has digital signature information. This security
level enables existing Microsoft Office 97 solutions that have not yet been
signed. Once a user chooses to trust all macros from a source, having
Microsoft Office 2000 set to a security level of Medium will automatically
enable signed macros from that trusted source, and no security alerts will
appear.
A security level set to Low is useful for the customer who has installed
the latest version of a virus scanner and the most current virus signature
files for that program and feels absolutely confident that this virus
scanner will detect all viruses.
To change your security settings in Microsoft Word 2000:
1. From the Tools menu, select Macros, and then choose Security.
The Security dialog appears.
2. Ensure that the Security is set to Medium and click OK.
3. Try to generate a document or edit a Master Document again.
