I am having real problems trying to import references into EndNote 7
from PubMed.
>From my search results screen, having marked 10 records, I choose
MEDLINE from the Display options. I choose File from the Send to
options. I then click on the Send to button and save the references to a
text file.
In EndNote I go to Import and choose the PubMed (NLM) option.
What happens next is that the data imports into one endnote reference,
with all the authors of all 10 papers appearing in the author field, all
10 titles going into the one title field, keywords ditto etc (although
strangely only one journal title appears in the journal title field).
Can anyone advise me?
Thanks
Anne

First question, why are you importing rather than using the Endnote
connect feature?
But after that, if you have a good reason or you would rather
download--- I checked the PubMed filter which came with Endnote7 and
compared that to a downloaded file. The filter looks for he first tag
of each record is UI - but that seems to have changed, it is now "PMID-
" so you should edit your filter (under record layout) to change that,
and it then seems to work.
Hah! I just checked and tech support put an updated filter on their
website 10/17/03- here is the pointer to the page from which to download
the windows version
ftp://support.isiresearchsoft.com/pub/pc/filters/PubMed%20(NLM).enf and
it contains the pmid- specific change. Thanks Tech Support!
