Changing the order of the fields when entering new references?
Author: Abe Zablocki    Posted: Fri, 22 Aug 2003 16:02:01 -0400
Hello endnote-interest folks,

Is there any way to change the order in which the fields appear when
you enter a new reference? I would like the keyword field, which I
use regularly, to appear before all the fields that I almost never
use.

Many thanks for any suggestions.

No Abe, I don't think there is anyway to alter the order showing options.
But, if you have fields that you never use, you can delete them from showing
at all though. Go into the preferences, edit reference types, modify the
reference types and delete any descriptive word from that field. It will no
longer show that field in your data entry view, but I think still shows it
for records that do have existing information in the field.

Changing the order of the fields when entering new references?
Author: Chris Jones    Posted: Fri, 29 Aug 2003 15:25:45 -0400
Funny, I just emailed ISI/Thompson about this, and they confirmed that
EndNote fields cannot be rearranged (although they can be in
ReferenceManager; why the difference I've no idea).

The act of paying is perhaps the most uncomfortable infliction that the
two orchard thieves entailed upon us. But *being paid*, — what will
compare with it? — Herman Melville
