Dear All,
I haven't been able to search the archives for a couple of days so I will
risk a question that has probably been answered before. I am having trouble
with Harvard style that comes standard with Endnote. My question mainly
concerns the way a journal article displays. On both the preview and when I
insert, EN5 is not displaying the journal article title.
If the style is just faulty could someone please direct me to where I can
download a version that works.
Thanks,
Gary Pearce

Yes, I see that for some reason, the style for Harvard doesn't include the
title for journal articles and should. The easiest thing to do, is to edit
the style, (Edit, Output style, edit Harvard) Go to bibliography, templates,
copy the italicized word Title from Edited book, insert it into the
appropriate place in Journal, and save it all (you will be prompted to do
that, when you try to close the window). Usually I would recommend saving
it to a new name, but in this case, I would save it back to Harvard or
Harvard-corrected.

Hello Gary,
I'd just finished composing the instructions below when Leanne posted the
how-to...which are perfect...
except... I'm not sure that the article Title should be italized. From the
example on the webpage I used to verify, the Journal title should be ital or
bold, but the article itself should be plain font...
so you might investigate a little further...
here's what I'd just written:
Looks like you found an omission in the Endnote Harvard Style...!
I verified at http://www.lmu.ac.uk/lss/ls/docs/Harvard/sampbib.htm how a
Journal Article citation appeared...and adjusted the Harvard style in my
Endnote to match.
You can do it yourself
1. File/OutputStyles/OpenStylesManager
2. Edit Harvard
3. Click Template under Bibliography in left frame
4. At Journal Article component area, space once after the end parens
following Year and type Title followed by a period and a space.
5. Click Save under File.
or I can email you the corrected style as an attachment..
Endnote will probably correct the style on their FTP site...it has not been
changed since 1997 so the style with omitted Title has been sitting out
there for a looong time! but you can have
the change at your fingertips without waiting!

There have been occasional requests for such a style
on this list... including from me... but no one has
written one who has replied. There are no "stock" law
styles. A user in Australia, as I recall, offered to
share what they wrote for Aussie law. Hopefully one of
us Yanks will write and share a style for US law
journals! ... steve
