Dear Philipp
I had the same problem on my PC with EN6 and Windows XP.
It appears that others have hads the same experience. I resolved the
issue with the following advice, which I found in the EN Interest list:
EndNote 6 and Word XP
FR: ISI ResearchSoft
RE: Word XP and EndNote 6:
A few EndNote 6 customers are experiencing problems with EndNote 6 and Word
XP. In some cases, the CPU usage is rising to 100% until Word locks up. In
others, customers report seeing an EndNote error in Word: "Unknown Error
0x800A1007" and then receive "There is not enough memory to complete this
operation" when trying to close or quit Word. In this case, the user has to
force quit (Ctrl+Alt+Del).
NOTE:
-This does not happen with all Word XP installations.
-ISI ResearchSoft is investigating the problem.
Please contact technical support if you are having any problems using
EndNote 6 with Word XP. We would like to know exactly what system and
version of Word you are using (including service packs, etc.). This will
assist us in our research.
In the meantime, here is a workaround you can try, which appears to
solve the problem:
(1) Locate your Word XP Startup directory. (If you don't know where it
is, start Word XP, and choose "Tools...Options...File Locations." Select
"Startup" and click on the "Modify" button. This will show Word's
Startup directory.)
(2) Close Word XP, if it is open.
(3) Delete the file EN6CWYW.WordXP.wll from the Startup directory.
(4) Copy the file EN6CWYW.WLL from the EndNote directory to the Word
Startup directory.
Now start Word and use EndNote as usual.
If you try this workaround, we would appreciate if you could let us know if
this solves the problem.
Please send a your feedback/questions to our technical support staff:
"endnote"
