Oh, my goodness! I would like you to first note that I am sending this to you
directly,
not through the Endnote list. That is the style of communication that I choose
to use
when I have an off-topic comment about a message that is in a public forum.

Secondly, I choose not to respond in kind. Note that my sincere motive is the
continuance of professional communication. I do not desire your enmity, but
your
cooperation in making this list a forum of good information.

Lastly, I point you to your second sentence. "Remember that this is a forum
where
people all over the World are communicating..." It is, indeed, isn't it? I am
typing a
message from Salt Lake City, Utah, USA, to you in Adelaide, South Australia. We
participate in a world-wide community. My point is that we do not all speak
English.
Frankly, it has taken years to understand my grandchildren in Brisbane when they
are speaking, and we all, presumably, speak English!

When we are out in public and are standing next to a person talking on their
mobile
(cell phone here in the US), we have a choice. Most often, we choose to ignore
the
conversation, because we can only hear one side, and it doesn't involve us
anyway!

That is the appropriate response in this case. If you understand French and can
answer their enquiry, do so in kind; they are talking to you. Otherwise,
ignore it!

In the time that I've been typing this, 4 other responses have come over the
list. I
have no idea yet what the comments are, but I sincerely hope that this doesn't
turn into a flame war about universal languages.

Take care, Amoakoh, and God bless!

Bonjour Monsieur Jean Marie THOULON:

I guess you must be very very fond of your "French language." Remember
that
this is a forum where people all over the World are communicating, and also
remember that only few of the interest group members may have heard of the
French language. Thus we recommend strongly that you try to do us some good
favour by enrolling into a refresher course in "PURE ENGLISH" Language and
start translating your postings into English the universal, golden
language of our generation. Doesn't the French government provide English
language courses to you at high school. If so then you should NOT vote for
him the next time.

Good day,
