This is very silly I guess.
I was trying to make a gap between 2 authors in the reference. Its not
allowing me to do that. I tried to edit the output styles, not sure what
to edit?

What kind of a gap? In the output style, under author lists (for
citations and references), you want to make sure there is a space or
spaces in the "between" and "before last" boxes. When you select it,
there should be some "blue" selected space after the comma or "and". Is
that what you mean?
