hi
I am trying to create a numbered master bibliography for a
document of several chapters. My problem is that I then want to
insert separate numbered bibliographies at the end of each
chapter, where the references refer to citations in the chapter, and
the bibliographical numbers are identical with the the relevant
references in the final master bibliography. I am using Endnote 4,
but could upgrade if necessary.
any help much appreciated.

An interesting problem...Do you want the bibliographies to start with
sequential numbers (order of usage) and then Chapter 1 are numbers 1-15,
then Chapter 2 16-25? or some more complicated system?

hi leanne, thanks for getting in touch.
unfortunately the citations will be numbered according to their order
in
the master bibliography. The master bib is sorted according to
reference
type (journal articles, book chapter etc) and ordered 1 through to
over
1000. at the moment my only plan is to basically copy and paste
individual
references from the master bib to the end of each chapter - or at
least
run individual bibliographies off for each chapter separately and then
change the numbering to match the master bibliography - quite a
job!
any other thoughts would be great.
